The cache itself is shaped like a large dog bone and it is maintained by the out of state cache owners' young grandson... very kid friendly! The photo of the coin was taken with Scooby Doo!
19-Nov-2008 GC000 Harrisonburg VA Fire Department 25: A Firie Challenge... There are no fire station caches in our area, so I took my geocoin to the local fire department and photographed it in their museum.
04-Jan-2009 GC1K0JY Oh Shenandoah 28: Musical Mayhem The cache has the same name as a very popular folk song... "Oh Shenandoah". It can be played on the autoharp, which is what I received for Christmas, hence the photograph I took tonight.
10-Jan-2009 GC120Z Edinburg Old School House Cache 29: Historically Relevant I found this cache yesterday. It is located on the grounds of a school has stood at it's present location since the early 19th century, I had another cache in mind for this challenge, but today's icy roads prevented us from venturing out, so I hope this one will qualify!
08-Feb-2009 GC1M2T Old Valley Pike: Granted, It's History 33: Renovators Delight Stopped by well after dark tonight to squeeze in this challenge before the deadline! The park was closed so I was unable to obtain a photo but I will look up one that I took earlier this year and add it to the log. The house is located on the adjacent Civil War battlefield and was built in 1825. It is open for tours during daylight hours.
22-Feb-2009 GA0994 Then & Now 35: No Signature Required The original B&W photo from my hometown was taken in 1939. I went back to the same location (6th floor of the bank building) and reshot the photo, as required to complete this challenge. I have made numerous attempt to upload the photo to my log at geocaching.au but it is encountering a problem. (I will try again tomorrow). It is posted in the coins log however.
15-Feb-2009 GC1ERCH The Silver Exchange: Rock Collection 36: Hate 'em in Rocks Relevant to rocks - located in a rock pile!
01-May-2009 GC1NFW8 Hotel 4 Bugs 46: Prize Challenge PHOTOGRAPH OF A TB OR COIN WITH THE THEME OF "SIGNALS" UPLOADED TO A LOG FOR A CACHE.. This is my Ranger216 geocoins that feature a steam engine (and a steam whistle that is used as a signal). The reverse also has the R/R crossing sign, which features the crossing signal.
15-May-2009 GC1QVT Zip It: 22803 48: Nearest Zip It! is located just 1.8 miles from my house, making it the closest cache. It was just placed this week but I had no prior knowledge of it and I do not know the owner, so I believe it qualifies. Thanks again for the game - wish I would have known about it in the beginning. Sure hate to see it winding down, but it has been fun!
